Positive Intelligence Quotient (aka PQ) –
I’ve started the Course!
What greater testimonial can one give than free and unsolicited praise?!
“The reason we feel anxious is because in the back of our minds we know that control is an illusion.”
—Shirzad Chamine
At the suggestion of one of my respected colleagues, Joan Yue, Ph. D., who is a personal coach and healer, I decided to register for Shirzad Chamine’s course on Positive Intelligence (PQ). You’re probably familiar with the term, IQ (an individual’s Intelligence Quotient as determined by tests used in our educational system).
You might also be aware of the concept of EQ, a person’s Emotional Intelligence Quotient. It is defined by Oxford Languages as “The capacity to be aware of, control, and express one’s emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically.”
How Is Positive Intelligence (PQ) Different?
PQ advocates contend that, while your IQ and EQ contribute to your maximum potential, it is your PQ that determines how much of that potential you achieve.
We often fail to manifest what we desire in life because there may be a war going on between our mind’s judgmental saboteurs and our higher wisdom’s ability to employ the perspective of a “Sage.” When following the PQ suggestions, the Sage can help us remove those negative judgments and substitute a constructive, peaceful way of overcoming the stress and negative consequences associated with tainted thinking and emotional responses.

Positive Intelligence (PQ) is the name of Shirzad Chamine’s New York Times best-selling book. It’s also the name of his method that we all can use for measuring our Mental Fitness (MF).
MF includes rebounding quickly from negativity (emotions or circumstances) and substituting positive, constructive techniques for creating more harmonious or successful outcomes.
Our PQ indicates how quickly we recover from counterproductive to positive responses to challenges. The classes teach ways in which to do it faster, more consistently, and with health benefits to our minds/bodies/spirits/and emotions.
The following is information about him, as well as a way in which you can register through a certified trainer, who may be able to offer a discounted price. (No, I don’t get paid for writing this blog.)
PQ Founder, Shirzad’s, Background
The PR statement: “Shirzad Chamine has studied neuroscience at the doctoral level in addition to holding a BA in psychology, an MS in electrical engineering, and an MBA from Stanford. He is Chairman of CTI, the largest coach-training organization in the world. CTI has trained coaches and managers in most of the Fortune 500 companies, as well as faculty at Stanford and Yale business schools. He is a researcher and lecturer, whose goal is to teach people how to achieve one’s true potential for both professional success and personal fulfillment.”
I would add that another of his major qualifications, as an authority on these topics, is the fact he endured a harsh and emotionally scarring childhood. That formed the basis for his need to overcome unconscious self-protection ploys and, in turn, led him onto the road of discovery. What works for him works for others, and he now engages in a mission to help millions of people with what he has learned. His book tells us we can improve our PQ significantly in as little as 21 days.
The Six-Week PQ Program
He says, “With higher PQ, teams and professionals ranging from leaders to salespeople perform 30 to 35 percent better on average. Importantly, they also report being far happier and less stressed.
The breakthrough tools and techniques in this book have been refined over years of coaching hundreds of CEOs and their executive teams.”
Self-Sabotage
The six-week PQ Program is a mental fitness program that enables one to create sustained change toward a more positive mind by laying down neural pathways to form new habits through consistent daily practice. This program teaches how to identify and conquer top Saboteur behavior patterns.
The most prominent personality habits might include a tendency to think and act as a:
Judge
Controller
Victim
Avoider
Pleaser.
Which Ones Do You Find Yourself Using?
We all use several techniques – in varying degrees of dominance – in our thought processes and behaviors as we cope with life’s challenges. You may find it useful to identify the ones most applicable to you and to understand how they came into existence. They probably were born through subconscious self-preservation ploys. These were developed as you reacted to events and people in your earliest life stages. Ask yourself what their purpose was in preserving your life, safety, health, and survival.
I am not saying you must undergo deep analysis or psychotherapy nor remember all the things that happened to you in early life in order to use the PQ program successfully. You do not need to do that. However, you may experience the emergence of long-forgotten or repressed memories and emotions as you progress through the exercises in this course.
Countering the Saboteur with the Sage
The program teaches you how to counter your “Judges” with your “Sage” (innate wisdom). The Sage has the following characteristics (among others). You can choose to:
Empathize (with yourself, as well as with others)
Explore
Innovate
Navigate
Activate.
PQ Archetypes, Saboteurs, Sages, and More
I find the PQ work to be compatible with some of Carl Jung’s and Carolyn Myss’s teachings about Archetypes that affect our thinking and behavior.
An archetype is a universally understood symbol or term or pattern of behavior, a prototype upon which others are copied, patterned, or emulated. Archetypes are often used in myths and storytelling across different cultures. ~ FIU Libraries

Certifications
A person who meets the qualifications can become a Positive Intelligence Trainer. At this juncture, I do not expect to do that, but I’m about to refer you to someone who leads these sessions.
On the other hand, I have certifications in many other modalities. I also have a long history in business management and voluntarism, plus experience as a teacher or trainer in classes on a wide variety of topics.
Contact me if you would like to know whether I can help you in any area of personal, spiritual, or professional life.
We’ll schedule a FREE Sip & Share Session on Zoom (or in person if you’re in my geographic area). I won’t pressure you to buy my products or services. It’s a chat to see how I might help and/or what resources I can guide you toward. Email MyGetWellGuru@gmail.com and put “Request Sip & Share” in the subject line along with the topic you want to discuss. I’ll get back to you, so we can arrange a schedule to talk.
Do You Want to Take the PQ Class?
Again, I took the Positive Intelligence course, by Shirzad Chamine, under the auspices of Joan Yue, “Ph.D. Chemist turned Miracle Healer.”
In addition to offering discounted prices for those in need, she provides considerable value-added benefits by personally leading the discussion groups. In that capacity, she employs her ability to tap into the Quantum Field to discern information about emotional or psychological blocks people have used (usually to protect themselves from pain) that have hampered their success in meeting goals or in being able to enjoy their lives. The result is a discernible and often dramatic transformation in the lives of several of the students. That progress is visible every week of the course.
If you would like to take the class via her offerings, Click Here for the link in which you can contact her. In case that link is hard to see, here is the entire URL: https://www.facebook.com/groups/movementfeedback
If you have experience with the PQ program and would like to share, I’d love to hear from you. Until then ~
